On Thursday 13th June I was invited to the gala night of 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Gielgud Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. This also marks the first time I have seen the production. The star-studded cast for this production includes Donna Air as Lauren, James Buckley, and a compelling ensemble for this return to the West End.
Danny Robins' play is a masterclass in suspense construction — four people in a house, strange noises at 2:22am, and a dinner party that gradually spirals into something genuinely terrifying. The staging is claustrophobic in the best possible way, and the cast are excellent. One of the cleverest commercial West End plays of recent years.
