On Thursday 21st March I was lucky enough to be invited to review Mind Mangler — Member of the Tragic Circle at Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. The Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle is written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields.
Mind Mangler is a slightly different beast from Mischief Theatre's other productions — more solo show than ensemble comedy, and dependent on Lewis's extraordinary physical presence and comic timing. The magic tricks are genuinely baffling, the comedy is relentless, and the character of the hapless Mangler is one of the most fully realised comic creations Mischief have produced.
