Hello, Dolly! — London Palladium Review

On a sunny July night in London, what could be more perfect than seeing a classic musical in a classic theatre? This summer, the London Palladium is the home of the revival of Hello, Dolly! — a marvellous, sweet treat of a show led by the sensational Imelda Staunton.

Staunton is, simply, magnificent. She commands the Palladium's vast stage with ease, wringing every drop of comedy, warmth and pathos from Dolly Levi. When she finally descends the staircase in the title number, the theatre erupts. The production is lavish, affectionate and precisely what a summer musical should be.
