Hostages, American espionage thriller starring Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, Hereditary, The Staircase) opposite Dylan McDermott (Steel Magnolias, The Practice, American Horror Story), will be available to stream for free on ITVX from 22nd November. Jerry Bruckhiemer serves as executive producer.

Revered surgeon Dr. Ellen Sanders (Toni Collette) is set to perform a routine surgical procedure on the President of the United States (James Naughton). But when a group of masked vigilantes invade her home and hold her family hostage, she is faced with a difficult decision: cooperate, ensure the President dies on the operating table, or jeopardise her loved ones’ safety.

Duncan (Dylan McDermott) is the ringleader, a corrupt federal agent at the helm of the assassination plot. It’s clear he has been watching the family closely and has access to insider information, forcing Sanders to question who his accomplices are and how high up the conspiracy reaches. Rather than a power-hungry villain, Duncan’s drive to eliminate the President stems from a fiercely personal motive. The show wrestles with moral ambiguity, as both central characters are motivated by a deep devotion to their families.

Filmed in New York by Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with Warner Bros. Television. Executive producers, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, Rick Eid, Omri Givon, Rotem Shamir; Chayim Sharir; director, Nachmanoff; writers, Alon Aranya, Nachmanoff.

Hostages will stream on ITVX from the 22nd November.
